Review: Royal Bully by Rachel Van Dyken

SYNOPSIS:

The prequel to the much anticipated Mafia Royals series….

Something dark this way comes.
He’s gorgeous, mean, and mine.
He catches me dreaming about him, and then just like my dream, he decides to make me his.
I should have said no when he asked me to swear fealty to him.
The knife clued me in first.
The blood second.
And third, it was the blessing of the most famous mafia bosses in the known world as they sat around the dinner table and told me that I had no choice but to join.
Because they knew my secrets.
And running meant I was nothing more than target practice.
I said yes because of my bully.
And he told me he’d keep me safe.
But who keeps me safe from him?

REVIEW:

*Book Received in Exchange for Honest Opinion/Review*

This book was everything I need…but desperately need more of. If you follow me at all, you know my deep-seeded obsession with everything Rachel Van Dyken writes…but her mafia books are my favorite. And let me just tell you, when I found out the kids were getting a book?! Deceased…I am dead. But my anxiety and nerves are alive and well.

In typical Rachel fashion, this book is just laying the foundation and boy do I have a lot of feels and questions. I was already giggling before Chapter 1. The raw power of these characters, their complex relationships, and the never-ending undercurrent of danger makes for a tantalizing read. While this is Asher and Claire’s book, it leaves me dying to know more. Who exactly is Claire? How did each of the mafia kids fall into their roles? What about Serena and Junior…I MEAN REALLY WHAT ABOUT SERENA AND JUNIOR?! I will die waiting till May to find out their story. If they don’t end up together…I will riot. *deep breath*

While the story can be read as a standalone, a lot of my favorites are back as their sexy, middle-aged selves. Chase, I have truly forgotten how much I love him till his sh*t-eating grin showed up. I was laughing out loud and just filled with such a sense of elation while reading. The plot twists are plentiful but honestly its the mafia and at this point, anything goes. So bring on the dangers, I am ready for SERENA AND JUNIORS BOOK.
