Review: Tangled by Emma Chase

SYNOPSIS:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

REVIEW:

This book put me through the emotional ringer, in the best way possible. Drew’s cocky, arrogant voice brings the pages to life and you can’t help but cheer his selfish *ss on. I bounced from giggling to concern to laughing out loud over and over again. A witty and refreshing narrative that takes you inside the mind of the handsome, *ss-hole alphas we all love, and occasionally love to hate.

I absolutely adored everything about Drew and Kate’s interactions, they are ying and yang. Their banter had me in fits of giggles and they contrast each other perfectly. Drew had finally met his match when he laid eyes on Kate. Not only is their banter hilarious, but the sexual tension was through the roof. Their arguments and constant disagreements were like foreplay. It just made the build up that much sweeter.

The drama, well if you met Drew or couldn’t tell from the synopsis, there is plenty of it! Watching Drew come undone and have his whole life turned upside down from Kate was the absolute best! I have never been so happy to read a book in a place of solitude because I was hooting with laughter and then blushing like a fool. I can definitely see why this book got the praise it did, and I am so glad my friend recommended it to me!
